The great fake! The snorkel end shown above is from a D3TZ-9A626-G. Ford used the same tooling to make 429 and 460 truck snorkels but stamped the flange end differently. Do not pay a premium price for one of these common snorkels. Many eBay sellers list these truck snorkels as correct CJ units but they are not. If you are skilled at metal work you can weld up the holes and stamp a recess and put in new mounting holes in the correct location. |

These snorkels were used on all 1970 and 1971 429 CJ air cleaners. They were the same on a shaker, ram air, or regular air cleaner and were used on Ford Torino, Fairlane, Ranchero, Mustang, and Mercury Cyclone, Montego and Cougar. From the center of the mounting flange to the end the snorkel is approximately 9 3/8 inches long |
