Speedometer Gear Reducers were used on many high ratio geared Ford cars. These were manufactured by Stewart Warner for Ford and although the details may be specific to a Ford unit, Parts are common to many applications. In 1968 Ford used them on Automatic transmission cars but not 4 speed cars. Ford was not consistent in using reducers in 1969 and they stopped using them on 4 speed cars after January 31st. They did use them again on 1970 and 71 4 speed cars.
