Contact between diabase intrusion (brown along joints) and overlying hornfels  (gray and layered) at Manassas Quarry of Vulcan Materials Corporation, Prince William County, VA.  Before contact metamorphism, the parent rock of the hornfels was a red-brown siltstone.
