Rich has always had a strong interest in pop music, and this has led him into some areas that could be considered somewhat surprising, considering his strong jazz roots.
Certainly notable among these areas would be his 11 year run as co-composer, with his partner Scott Gale, on the hit series "Saved By The Bell". Rich and Scott provided music for more than 250 episodes of this series, in a variety of styles that is truly amazing. Rock, pop, rap, big band, marching band, new age, classical, broadway, ballet, you name it, they did it. The "Saved By The Bell" franchise extended to TV movies, and a soundtrack album, and Rich and Scott were right there on the front lines through it all.
Rich and Scott provided music for many other TV shows, as well. (See Bio page.) Not all of these created the world-wide sensation stirred up by "Saved By The Bell", but at least a couple of them deserve brief mention.
"Herman's Head" was a critical favorite, featuring four actors as the warring factions in Herman's brain. It ran for three seasons on Fox.
"The Secret Diary of Desmond Pfeiffer" caused quite a stir back in 1998, with its comic portrayal of a black butler working for a bumbling Abraham Lincoln. Politically incorrect to an apparently alarming degree, it didn't survive its first season, and actually drew crowds of demonstrators to the Paramount lot. But it was a lot of fun to do--lots of period music, and one great big production number. And Scott and Rich did get a glowing mention in Billboard for their musical efforts. They were sorry to see the show end..

Besides the albums and the TV shows, Rich has either written for, arranged, performed on, produced, engineered, or otherwise been involved in, a wide variety of music projects, industrial films and videos, jingles, infomercials, songwriter demos, dance pieces, theatre music, squaredance music, and, uh, whatnot.
The studio offers Modular Digital Multitrack recording (Tascam), hard-disk recording (Digital Performer, ProTools), acoustic grand piano (Kawai GS-40), Roland, Kurzweil, and Akai samplers, two iso areas, and other amenities.
