An Overview of the Rutgers Internal Review Board (IRB) Process and a showing of the Human Subjects Certification Film on Monday, April 21, 2008.
 
During the morning the Human Subjects Certification film will be shown for those who need certification to conduct research studies involving human subjects.
During the free period, Ms. Michelle Gibel, IRB Administrator and Ms. Erica Graser, IRB/IACUC Administrator will present an overview of the Rutgers IRB process and answer any questions you may have.
Please join us for both sessions if you are new to research at Rutgers and need human subjects certification or just the overview and Q & A if you have questions about the IRB process.  This is open to all faculty, staff and students. See details below.

Human Subjects Certification Film: Monday, April 21, 2008 Presentation on Camden Campus
The Certification Film is an alternative means for individuals to complete the Human Subjects Certification Program (HSCP).  Certification is required for all individuals involved in the design or conduct of human subjects research, and this film offers an easier means of fulfilling that requirement.  The Research Integrity and Compliance Office of the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs and the Office of Sponsored Research will be presenting this two-part film on Monday, April 21, 2008.

Attendance for the complete showing of both parts is required in order to obtain HSCP certification via this alternative.  Attendees are asked to present a valid form of identification, such as a student ID.  New faculty, staff, graduate and undergraduate students are welcome to attend the screening in order to obtain their HSCP certification.

The film was compiled from a seminar presented by Dr. Thomas Puglisi, former Director of Human Subjects Protections of the Office for Human Research Protections (OHRP).  The film will be presented in two parts at the location and time listed below and covers the following topics:

 12:15 pm to 1:20 pm – Overview of Rutgers IRB Process and Q&A Session
Michelle Gibel, CIM, IRB Administrator and Erica Graser, J.D, IRB/IACUC Administrator will present a Q&A session as well as an overview of the Rutgers IRB process.

Please note that anyone arriving more than 10 minutes late for the film will need to take advantage of another showing at a later date (which will not be this semester, if you do not attend the film you will need to pass the online quiz.

Please note that attendance for the entirety of both sessions of the film is required in order to fulfill this alternative, and it is important that attendees arrive on time.  Individuals present for the entire session will receive an email within two weeks after the presentation notifying them that their HSCP Certificate is available for download from ORSP’s web site.
