Hybrid Internet Course Fall 2008

Responses to the question:  "What would you like to change about the Hybrid Internet nature of this course?"

edit  51. accessibility to online files pertaining to course material. having to go TO CAMPUS ONCE A MONTH FOR EXAMS/having attendance at these on campus classes mandatory/no review of on-campus exams  Thu, 11/20/08 4:30 PM
edit  52. I would have liked a few more of the exercises like the crime trend graph, and the hypothesis testing assignment. I think they were very useful in understanding the material.  Thu, 11/20/08 4:20 PM
.
edit  41. i feel like the tests were a little hard, but really the course was good!  Fri, 11/21/08 2:30 PM
edit  42. Nothing.  Fri, 11/21/08 2:15 PM
edit  43. I would change that fact that they have three separate dates for the test to be due. I would like all three chances to be due on the latest day possible, like in the beginning of the course.  Fri, 11/21/08 11:15 AM
edit  44. Sometimes things weren't quite as clear as they would have been if they were discussed in class. Every once in a while it seemed people would miss a due date simply because they weren't reminded in person.  Fri, 11/21/08 10:04 AM
edit  45. I feel like we should not feel so rushed to complete our work.  Fri, 11/21/08 9:38 AM
edit  46. The times should be the same for each quiz and assignment  Thu, 11/20/08 11:53 PM
edit  47. Nothing  Thu, 11/20/08 10:12 PM
edit  48. I liked the quizzes how they were presented the first half of the semester, not with the due date. I am having a hard time trying to keep up with all the different dates.  Thu, 11/20/08 8:40 PM
edit  49. I wouldn't change anything, I thought this format for the course worked perfectly.  Thu, 11/20/08 6:52 PM
edit  50. I would offer more tests; specifically, one or two online. Since it is often difficult to grasp so much material all together I would offer two additional test online in-between the first and second example and the other between the second exam and the final.  Thu, 11/20/08 5:01 PM

edit  31. For me the hardest part is grasping some of the concepts because for the most part you are teaching yourself. On the other hand this is the first internet class where a professor took the time to make narrated power points and that has been a huge help! I don't think that there is any real changes that I would want to make to this course.  Mon, 11/24/08 8:57 AM
edit  32. MORE N CLASS MEETINGS  Sun, 11/23/08 4:26 PM
edit  33. There is nothing I would really change. I am taking another hybrid internet class next semester because I enjoyed it.  Sun, 11/23/08 12:23 PM
edit  34. N/A  Sun, 11/23/08 11:50 AM
edit  35. Nothing  Sun, 11/23/08 8:19 AM
edit  36. That the syllibus was actually on the Sakai site and not 'a link' to the Prof. site.  Sat, 11/22/08 10:05 PM
edit  37. I actually thought that this class was set up just fine. As of right now, I have no complaints or things that I would want to change.  Sat, 11/22/08 11:50 AM
edit  38. The fact that we had to navigate betwen Mr Goertzel's home page and sakai, instead of one site  Sat, 11/22/08 1:57 AM
edit  39. I needed a better review about the exams in person with the professor. I loved having the quizzes on the Internet but when you need help right than and there it's not available.  Fri, 11/21/08 3:52 PM
edit  40. The only thing I didn't like was having due dates for quizzes in the middle of the week. When I initially started the course, I would leave this work for the weekend because my weeks were very busy. Changing it to have quiz chances throughout the week made me have to rearrange my schedule. I think it is the students responsibility to get their work done in an internet class and that the prof shouldnt have to set these types of benchmarks

edit  21. nothing  Thu, 11/27/08 8:29 AM
edit  22. The only thing would be how many test we have in one week. In the beginning we would have about 3 test a week, so if we could have 1 or 2 that would be great. Also it would be great if the chatroom would not be part of the grade because some people do not have a computer at home and cannot make the chats.  Wed, 11/26/08 12:47 PM
edit  23. Don't make attendance mandatory during test days. We should be allowed to leave after the test with no penalty to our grades. I didn't really need the stat review so why should I have to stay for it.  Tue, 11/25/08 4:37 PM
edit  24. maybe meet once for final, put exams online. Or leave the all exams online and no class meeting.  Tue, 11/25/08 11:36 AM
edit  25. I prefer a timed test on line rather than having to attend in person for assessments  Tue, 11/25/08 11:31 AM
edit  26. The assignment due dates/times were sometimes confusing, listed as one date/time on the syllabus and another on Sakai.  Tue, 11/25/08 10:46 AM
edit  27. nothing!  Mon, 11/24/08 6:21 PM
edit  28. Everything was great. It challenged me alot more than I expected.  Mon, 11/24/08 12:51 PM
edit  29. The only thing I would change is the due dates on the assignments, if it was possible.  Mon, 11/24/08 11:07 AM
edit  30. Meet only 3 times, and no lecture after testing or make it optional.  Mon, 11/24/08 10:04 AM

edit  11. I would not change anything about the course.  Mon, 12/1/08 2:56 PM
edit  12. deadlines, due dates... I work full time!  Mon, 12/1/08 11:58 AM
edit  13. Nothing.  Mon, 12/1/08 11:18 AM
edit  14. Nothing  Mon, 12/1/08 9:36 AM

edit  17. Nothing. I think the format works very well.  Sat, 11/29/08 11:52 AM
edit  18. i would have one assigment due date per assignment and on expetions; to continue with the flexability of an online class  Fri, 11/28/08 8:21 PM
edit  19. It got changed, but in the beginning I would have changed the mandatory chat room times.  Fri, 11/28/08 4:02 PM
edit  20. nothing  Thu, 11/27/08 8:29 AM

edit  1. More lectures  Mon, 12/8/08 1:36 PM
edit  2. Nothing  Thu, 12/4/08 9:42 PM
edit  3. It worked well for me so I don't have any input on this.  Thu, 12/4/08 3:27 PM
edit  4. That some ways of grading changed throughout the semester. This isn't fair when we don't have inclass time to go over the changes.  Wed, 12/3/08 8:39 PM
edit  5. The course structure  Wed, 12/3/08 8:30 PM
edit  6. I would like to have more in class opportunities.  Wed, 12/3/08 12:43 PM
edit  7. Nothing.  Wed, 12/3/08 11:42 AM
edit  8. make the quiz page more streamlined, maybe remove the old quizzes from the list once the grades are posted elsewhere.  Wed, 12/3/08 9:11 AM
edit  9. Nothing.  Mon, 12/1/08 4:54 PM
edit  10. Nothing  Mon, 12/1/08 3:51 PM
