Social Movements Week Four

This week will raise the question of the emergence of Jihadist and terrorist movements.  We will return to this topic later in the semester as well.  This week, we will contrast psychological and sociological explanations.

Quiz Four will open on Feb 14 and Close on Feb 18 before class.  You will have only one chance to take this quiz, so read the material before taking it.  Once you open the quiz you have thirty minutes to complete it.  Saving it and exiting does not stop the clock.
Writing Assignment Due February 15
  1. Log on the Discussions module in SAKAI and click on "Writing Assignment Due Feb 8".  Type a brief reply to THREE of the assignments written by other students.  Each reply should be at least 25 words.
  2. [optional] Add a picture of yourself to the discussion module so we can see who you are.  To do this, click on Discussions and then on 'My Profile" and scroll down to the Avatar Control panel.  If you do not want to add a picture, you can add a "avatar" you find on the Internet, such as Fulano de Tal's (see his response to Alysia Sieh's post).  Find a symbol that somehow represents you by searching Google Images and right-click on it to open it in its own window so as to find its URL. [If you don't have the computer skills to do this easily, you can skip it.]
