Pickersville is a recording studio located in Lynchburg, Va. dedicated to helping local talent record and produce their projects.  We have a little different approach to things, if you can't come to us we can bring the studio to you. That is just what we did for the band Willow Branch. We are proud to anounce the release of their newest project "Grave Without a Name". Featuring Robert Noble, Gayle Noble, Greg Lam, and Doug McDonald.

 

The owner of Pickersville, Doug McDonald, has been playing bluegrass since the age of 7. He was raised on bluegrass by his older brother Bill, who learned how to play from their grandfather.  Doug and Bill passed that skill on to their younger brother Mike and in the late 70's the boys started a band called the McDonald Brothers. In the late 80's Doug and Bill started the band Steel Creek, where Doug played banjo and sang lead and tenor. Doug currently plays mandolin and guitar with Willow Branch and writes songs in his spare time. His brother Bill still plays with Steel Creek and has a recording studio in Garner, NC. When Bill upgraded his studio recently, he once again passed down equipment and skills to his younger brother, thus the birth of Pickersville.
