Other LINKS can include a link to the new Massachusetts Dept. of Education, Vocational Technical Education Frameworks,
which was approved by the Mass. Board of Education in June of 2006.
We can have LINKS to information about the new Certificate of Occupational Proficiency. The Mass. DOE is developing
the criteria for it now.
The Mass DOE will soon be developing ASSESSMENT criteria that will include a 200 Question Test in Marketing. They
will soon be developing various ASSESSMENT Portfolios of the work of Vocational students.
I have been fortunate to be serving on STUDY COMMITTEES to review the Marketing Frameworks, and have been
allowed to attend several key meetings to discuss these changes.
It is an exciting time to be involved in Vocational Education. Our Marketing Business Advisory Committee
has been reviewing this progress.
Teachers, Administrators, and Business leaders throughout Massachusetts are working on this reform of Vocational Education
Our administrators are reviewing these changes and finding ways to adapt them to our program.
Sometime this year, we will make a presentation to the School Committee regarding the changes from the Dept.
of Education. We want to make sure that everyone reviewing this web site understands that we will follow all the policies
of the Taunton School District and the Massachusetts Dept. of Education.
As with any changes, procedures that guide the study of changes
in education, and insure that appropriate decision-makers are informed of changes will be followed and brought to those
folks in a timely manner for approval.
