I was born and raised in Northern Harford County, MD.  I have been happily married since 1996 to my husband, Jason and we live near the Mason-Dixon Line in PA. We have been blessed with three children; Mikaela, stillborn in 1996, Jennifer, born in 1997 and Mason, born April Fools Day 2001.  Mason unexpectedly passed away in 2009.  All of my children were born vaginally, without pain medication; one after an induced labor because of intra-uterine death and the other two after relatively short and painless labors.  I breast fed both Jennifer and Mason. 

 

I am trained and certified as a birth doula through DONA and as a labor doula through CAPPA and I have completed 71.1 continuing education credits beyond my certifcations.  I am a member of DONA, CAPPA and the American Pregnancy Association.  I am also a certified Level I Reiki practitioner and have specialized training in supporting families through perinatal loss. I currently serve as the international director for CAPPA's Operation Special Delivery, a program which offers volunteer doula services to women who are giving birth while their partners are on military deployment.  I have experience with both natural and medicated births, multiples, cesarean sections and vaginal births after cesareans.  My desire is to help women and their partners have beautiful childbirth experiences full of peace and free from fear.  To date, I have served over 100 families.
