I've set up a small weather station in my backyard.

Weather Station beams current weather
parameters to a base station. The base station is hooked up to my PC (an old,
forgotten IBM Thinkpad, with an SMC

802.11b LAN card). The base station wireless picks up the weather data, and
sends it to the PC through the serial port. "Heavy Weather
Publisher" runs in the system tray of the PC, uploading a JPG image it
builds with the current weather data.
I also installed Weather Underground / HeavyWeather
Uploader (WUHU)
software. This allow my station to share information with the Citizen Weather Observer Program, and the NOAA

There's nothing fancy - I'm just trying to have some fun.
