8 Day with crown wheel escapement. This movement is original including the wooden spools for the weight cords. CASE SIZE & CONSTRUCTION
Base=54", Height=75 1/2", Depth=18" Case constructed primarily of pear wood, with burl walnut inlays. Dovetail construction through out cabinet, with some joints having hand cut nails.

White enamel dial with wrought iron hands. Small crack in the enamel from the center of the dial towards the XI. The hours are designated in roman numerals, the minutes in Arabic. MISC. FEATURES
The cabinet is constructed of pear wood as the primary wood throughout. It is built in two sections. The top has a double door glass cabinet with a center lock. Under the cabinet is one long drawer with veneered panels on the sides and a lock. Under the top drawer are two sections of four small drawers. The center has an open compartment with an arched top. The arched top holds a concealed drawer. The top section is covered by a drop front desk which also has a lock and key. The left side of the cabinet has a built in clock with an enamel face and wrought iron hands. The base consists of a cupboard on one side and three drawers. The Cabinet is in excellent condition throughout. The wood surfaces retain their original finish. One of the panes of glass is a replacement. The hardware is original, as are the locks and keys.

ACQUIRED FROM "The Antique Corner" in Lakewood, Ohio CONDITION WHEN ACQUIRED The clock is not in running order at this time as the original pendulum is missing. A replacement will be acquired in the future to restore the movement to running order. RESTORATION N/A HISTORICAL DATA A rare and unusual antique vestment cabinet. Hand made in Switzerland and shipped to the original U.S. owner in Ohio in the early 20th Century. The clock was purchased by "The Antique Corner" from the original U.S. owner. REFERENCES N/A NOTES This clock certainly doesn't fall within the realm of most of the clocks in our collection. We generally collect early American clocks and timepieces, but we both liked this cabinet so much, the clock was sort of a side benefit. Continue with selection:
