CONDITION WHEN ACQUIRED

Image at top of page is the clock in the condition it was acquired.

Case is in very good condition, a small piece of trim loose from the left side of the bonnet.  Movement appears to be in good condition, but extremely dirty.  Dial door is missing it's bottom hinge.  The dial has had some poor restoration attempts made by a previous owner, several spots have been touched up with white paint, and several letters have been inked over.

RESTORATION

July 2005 - Cleaned, repaired, oiled. and adjusted movement.  The suspension spring was broken off where it attaches to pendulum rod.   Drilled a new hole in the suspension spring an reattached to pendulum rod.  Cleaned case and set clock to running in it's new home in the dining room.
HISTORICAL DATA Thomas Bell was a clockmaker & watchmaker in Hexham which is west of New Castle Upon Tyne.

NOTES This was the first public estate auction we have been to in quite some time, as they are fairly rare where we live.  It reminded us of how much we enjoyed attending and participating in these events.
