Steel plates and gears, except escape wheel and great wheels, 8 day, Time & Strike on Cathedral gong.
CASE SIZE & CONSTRUCTION Base=11 1/2", Height=23 1/2", Depth=4" Carved case, have not determined wood type yet.
LABEL INFORMATION N/A, no markings on case, dial, or movement DIAL INFORMATION
Replacement paper dial on original tin dial pan. Will be restored to original condition at a later date. Dial has a 5" chapter ring. MISC. FEATURES
Round doors covering dial and pendulum bob opening.
ACQUIRED FROM Public estate auction held in Keller, Tx. Sale was for items in the estate of Mr. & Mrs. Hamby who were the owners of the Antique House. CONDITION WHEN ACQUIRED
Image at top of page is the clock in the condition it was acquired. The case is in good condition, but very dirty. The movement appears to be in good condition, but is also extremely dirty.
RESTORATION
July 2005 - Cleaned and adjusted movement, cleaned case and set clock to running. HISTORICAL DATA
Unknown maker, case and movement plates do not appear to have any manufacture name or marks on them. The clock appears to be Asian made and exported to the U.S. but further research is needed. REFERENCES N/A NOTES This was the first public estate auction we have been to in quite some time, as they are fairly rare where we live.
