HISTORICAL DATA Company was founded in 1881 in Triburg, Germany as Schatz & Wintermantel. They went through several reorganizations throughout their history including; 1884-Jahresuhrenfabrik A.G., 1897-Jahresuhrenfabrik GmbH, 1923-Jahresuhrenfabrik Aug. Schatz & Sohne. The company went out of business in 1985 due to competitive pressures from firms manufacturing inexpensive quartz timepieces. Schatz & Sohne manufactured 400 day clocks, cuckoo clocks, small desk timepieces, barometers, electric clocks, and quartz clocks.
