Good Morning!
I am up before the men this morning. But probably Benjamin will be rounding
the corner at any minute. No matter how quiet I am in the morning, his supersonic ears pick up my every movement.
LOL
We went to Barbara's family's semi annual farm party last night. It was fun for the boys; they ran, played and
had a hay ride. The weather was perfect! The beautiful huge oaks on the property were peaceful and relaxing as
always. Our dog had a blast running the countryside and carrying her favorite animal in her mouth....a turtle.
Ryan traversed the countryside too, with his walker and his all terrain wheels. Yes, they make all terrain wheels for
kids walkers. LOL They are "big wheels" that you can snap on for rough terrain. So he was just as mobile as
our other 2 boys. Ryan had a blast.
It seems my eggs were a hit. There were none left and Tim was glad I had made
extra for him at home. (Mental note to make them more often for Tim.)
Well, I'm off to pay bills and get that May calendar filled in. I'm hoping
it is not as filled in as April was. LOL I think we should start slowing down as the hot summer starts.
Blessings,
~J

Good Morning!
Today is a rest day for me and boy am I glad. Thursday I didn't feel very well
and I did as much school as I could with the boys. Then Ryan and I took a long afternoon nap. Friday I was feeling
a bit better but still struggled to complete the schooling for the boys. But in the end we were able to get it all done.
The boys (Tim, Tyler and Ben) went out last night to see "Ice Age II" They had memorized the New Testament books of the Bible
and as a reward we went to see the movie. While they were at the movie, I took care of some much needed grocery
shopping. Ryan stayed with his Grandmother. So I was able to shop without the kids, a real luxury for
most mothers. LOL
I did not sign up for homeschool enrichment classes for the Fall 2006 season.
I still have time to sign up if we so choose, but I think that a break is in order. The distance, combined
with the smaller number of children, and the very basic classes overall, echoes the fact that we could use a break, and
now is a good time to take one. I feel at peace with the decision and I am excited to see what other activities we as
a family together might do instead.
As the school year winds down it's time to look to planning for next year.
Yes, no rest for those homeschooling mothers. In May I plan on getting next years curriculum and then I will start the
process of reading and studying for next year. The boys will continue reading and practicing their math all summer.
Kids lose so much over the summer so I help them keep their skills fresh. It doesn't take much time to complete a math
sheet and read some good books. In fact, if your creative, it could be .... FUN! Like "slip and slide math".
That is where you must answer a math fact before you slide down the water slide. There are so many games to play and
add in math....but then I really like math. LOL
Well, I'm off to get ready for a farm party tonight. I am making deviled eggs.
They are one of Tim's favorite things, so I plan on making extra just for him. My friend's baby shower that I am helping
host is coming up soon as well, and I have party favors to make. So already my day off is getting full. Oh well,
at least it's things I like to do. NO CLEANING!
Be blessed,
~J

Good Morning!
Well, it's been a whirlwind last few days. Between baseball and Tyler's theater group, it has this
momma running.
But Tyler's final play was yesterday, so
we have a break from that for a while. In May he wants to try out for a major role in an upcoming play in the Children's
theater. We plan to get the script and practice different parts for several weeks. I'm hoping it is able to give
him something challenging to work on. I think he needs something to challenge him.
Ben seemed to hit better at his game Tuesday. He is getting his confidence
back. He was so excited when they won on Tuesday b/c the other team was undefeated as well. He came to me and
said, "We are undefeatable!" I think he was trying to say, "We are undefeated!" but it was so darn cute.
His team is undefeated and I'm so glad that Ben gets to be on a winning team. It seems in the past his teams always
lose.
I think that Spring fever has definitely hit the mommy in this family. LOL I’m
ready for a break from school. We only have a few more weeks to go, but with all the moving, we have not really had
a true break this year. April and May is a time for perseverance where school is concerned. Teachers everywhere are holding on by their fingernails…and this year, so am I. LOL
I’m still praying about what the future holds for next year with school, homeschool
enrichment classes, Ryan’s special needs and keeping the boys on track and challenged.
When you think of us, send up a prayer about this issue. It’s always a
biggie as we come towards summer and the decisions are needed to be made. Be
blessed. ~J

Monday, Monday, well, we did school and I feel that Tyler and Ben are really
coming along each in their own individual way. Ben is reading better. A few weeks ago when I introduced long vowels
he started getting confused, so I stopped and we are reviewing for right now. It seems to be working well. I would
rather take my time and make sure he has a really strong reading foundation than to press and have him be confused and hate
reading. We came to the same place with Tyler when he was Ben's age, and I did the same thing and now he is reading
well beyond his grade level. Tyler just started long multiplication. He caught on really fast. I was impressed.
Ryan seems to be walking better since we put on his old shoes. They
have holes in them, so we will have to purchase some new ones. They are New Balance brand, and they seem to make him
feel more balanced.....could it be their name? LOL
Ryan also helped me make the cornbread for dinner tonight. Needless
to say he was adorable and the cornbread mix was on the floor, counters, his hair, his face etc. Yet, he was so cute
I didn't care. He acted so big to help make dinner, and I'm sure that 400 oven will kill any germ bugs those chubby
little hands were carrying.
All in all a good day here. Be blessed ~J

Today was a beautiful Sunday. We left the windows open and enjoyed
the cool breezes. I was busy today with some house cleaning and getting some invitations printed for a baby shower I'm
helping host next month. I had a fight with the printer that refused to obey my computer's commands. It kept jamming
up and printing in the wrong place. It was a disaster. The coating on the outside of the note cards was making
the printer slip. Aarrgh! I came unglued at one point and ripped one of the damaged invitations to shreds - a
very good example for my children, I know...of what NOT to do. LOL But I did feel much better after my fit.
The boys and I spent the evening outside playing baseball and riding bikes.
Ryan walked around in his walker and played "the how fast can I run from my brothers and mom" game. We were trying to
play ball but spent much of the time supervising Ryan to make sure he didn't go in the street. We always reined him
back in, but he is getting fast. LOL
I purchased a used bike over the weekend. I took it for a spin this
evening and discovered that the person who owned it before must have been at least a half a foot taller than me. My
feet could not even come close to reaching the ground and barely the pedals. I'm sure the neighbor had a few laughs
this evening. I know my kids did.
So that's it for today. Just the basics, cleaning and playing with
the kids, sandwiched between a knock-down-drag-out with the printer. LOL Now I'm off the wash those
little jewels in my crown. ~J
