Good Afternoon.
It has been quite some
time since I've blogged. I really haven't felt like writing, or had much to say, but today I have some time to
reflect.
This month has really passed
quickly. We are on week 7 for homeschooling and Ryan just finished his first 6 weeks. The boys have done
well and stayed focused. We did have a week break while Tim was on vacation. That helped all
of us relax from the rigorous school schedule that we all keep.
Some of the fun things
that we did while on vacation was visit a large zoo/aquarium with Tyler and Ben's Cub Scout Pack. My favorite animal
was the Moray Eel. It was a horrid green and would scare anyone if they came upon it in the ocean. My first thought
was that God is so creative. LOL We watched them feed the crocodiles, and it was amazing how quick they move
and bite.
We visited the aquarium
just a few days after Steve Irwin had died and seeing all those amazing animals including the Croc's made us think of how
he was a wonderful person and will be terribly missed.
We also went to one
of the preseason games for the local professional hockey team. We rode the train to a Mexican restaurant
and then walked to the arena. We all had a great time. Tyler and Ben were surprised at the amount of fighting
went on in the game. We were talking about it on the way home and they said they were confused if fighting was
against the rules then why did everyone do it and why didn't the referee stop it. Good question. LOL My only
answer was that professional hockey was a cross between a real professional sport like baseball and a fake professional sport
like pro-wrestling. LOL The fans like the fighting, the team likes to fight, and the referee's let them to an
extent, with only a "3-5 minute penalty." These are the conversations that make a parent go, hummm. Later
when I asked the boys did they like hockey? They said yes, but not all the fighting. Tyler said, "it detracted from
the sport of the game." LOL
We had our first parent/teacher/staff
meeting at Ryan's school this week. We had set goals for Ryan's progress and the amount of therapy he will receive etc.
With some work (and demands) on my part, I was pleased with the plan. They were so complimentary of Ryan. They
commented on how he is sweet and loving; as well as, his intelligence. My favorite comment was that Ryan was, "a
bright little boy." I have always felt that Ryan is a normal little boy in a body that is not working properly. It is
nice to hear professionals that feel that way too.
Ryan is enjoying his school.
I have noticed some progress; however, slow, but nevertheless, progress. I'm always reminded that this, like life is
a marathon and not a sprint.
On Monday, I had a little
accident. I twisted my ankle while walking out to my car. I immediately thought it was broken because I heard
it crack. But it was just badly sprained. Tim stayed home from work and I was out of commission for a day, but
by the following day, I was doing better. I am still sore, and have some interesting bruising, but getting better each
day.
That's about it, for now.
The weather is beautiful and it's a wonderful weekend to enjoy. Hope you have a blessed day.

Just a little funny
Teacher Arrested
NEW YORK -- A public school teacher was arrested today at John F. Kennedy International Airport
as he attempted to board a flight while in possession of a ruler, a protractor, a set square, a slide rule and a calculator.
At
a morning press conference, Attorney General Alberto Gonzales said he believes the man is a member of the notorious Al-gebra
movement.
He did not identify the man, who has been charged by the FBI with carrying weapons of math instruction.
"Al-gebra
is a problem for us," Gonzales said. "They desire solutions by means and extremes, and sometimes go off on tangents in search
of absolute values.
They use secret code names like 'x' and 'y' and refer to themselves as 'unknowns', but we have
determined they belong to a common denominator of the axis of medieval with coordinates in every country.
As the Greek
philanderer Isosceles used to say,’ There are 3 sides to every triangle'."

Good Morning.
It's hard for me to believe
that I have not posted in so long. It seems that every time that I would sit down to write, something or someone would
need some help or the phone would ring etc.
Suzy is healing well.
She only has a few days until her stitches are removed. Hopefully that will be cheaper. LOL
Tyler and Ben joined Cub
Scouts last week and their den visited a indoor zoo/aquarium yesterday. That was fun and educational. It was great
for them to meet some other children their ages.
We finished last week homeschooling
and now have a week break. My plans during the break is to paint the master bath, get ready for a garage sale (no
Barbara, I haven't got a date yet), and take a day to scrapbook.
Ryan has been doing good
at school as far as I can tell. I am working on getting better communication with the staff. Overall, he seems
happy there, but after my visit this last week, I'm not sure how much individualized care there is available to him.
That is something that I will be working on in the next few weeks. We have our first real meeting in
a few weeks that will address an individualized plan for Ryan. At that time, I will be able to see if the
school will be a benefit to Ryan.
Tim has been doing well
in his business and is enjoying a break from the fire station. I've liked seeing him everyday! :)
Be blessed!
