Tainted Youth
An 11 year old girl began
her first day in sixth grade. Skye
was her name. Innocent
as she was since birth, she was known
for her naivety. For this,
people despised her.

Each day passed full
of torment from others
and herself. Loneliness began
to be an all to real experience
for her. In that enormous school,
she tried to fit in.

Skye began eating less, people called her
fat. In hopes of fitting in
she stopped eating. That didn’t work
so she began eating more.
Torment continued
As she had gotten bigger than she began.

Soon after, Skye became ill.
Instead of the bright, smiling face
she tried hard to keep on always,
she became pale and fragile.
As the illness progressed, a tear
from once a most beautiful face,
fell.

Seeing this drastic change, the others felt
ashamed. Skye heard their regrets,
and, after realizing what she had done
to herself, she began to cry. The tears flowed
covering her face in cleansing water,
a transformation began.
Skye grew better.

Those magic tears that cleansed her brought
her into the hearts of her enemies. Those tears
not only washed away her insecurity,
but also washed the hatred of her enemies
away.
