Cheeseburger Casserole
Ingredients
1 lb. hamburger
3 tablespoons stick butter
2 tablespoons flour
4-5 cups sharp cheddar cheese shredded
3 tablespoons of dijon mustard
1 lb. pasta (any kind with ridges)
1-2 tablespoons of dried onion flakes
1 tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil for hamburger
1 cup milk
3 cups beef broth
Directions:
Cook pasta, by directions on box, until al dente (until it still has a little bit of bite left to it)
Heat skillet on Med High and place olive oil in it.
Brown hamburger and drain fat off, then return hamburger to skillet and cook with onion flakes
Add salt and pepper to taste
While hamburger cooks with onion flakes, melt 3 tablespoons of butter in a medium pan
After the butter is melted, add the flour and cook a few minutes, making a rue and losing the raw flour taste
Add the milk and beef broth and stir until thickened (2-3 minutes)
Once mixture is thickened, add shredded cheddar cheese and stir until melted
After the cheese is melted, add dijon mustard and stir
When finished with the sauce, mix pasta, hamburger, and sauce together
