Designed for those 13 and older, our Adults Program offers an ideal balance of physical exercise, philosophy, self-defense, and Martial Arts curriculum. The classes involve conditioning, toning, and stretching, along with fundamental Tae Kwon Do skill development.

A More Modern Form
The Jhoon Rhee Tae Kwon Do system has its foundation in the Chung Do Kwon style of Tae Kwon Do, but it is a more modern form which emphasizes, and has developed over the years, the more practical aspects of the Art.

Jhoon Rhee Tae Kwon Do incorporates in its curriculum the “Chung-Gi” series of hyung, or “forms,” consistent with the International Tae Kwon Do Foundation (ITF). Although these forms are utilized, Jhoon Rhee students first learn Grand Master Rhee’s more pragmatic contemporary forms prior to learning the traditional forms.

Jhoon Rhee Tae Kwon Do also emphasizes “semi-contact point fighting” or light-contact “continual fighting” in its sparring curriculum, as opposed to “full-contact” sparring. With this approach, Jhoon Rhee Tae Kwon Do has produced many regional and national point fighting champions.

Belts
As students advance in rank, they are awarded a series of solid-color belts, beginning with white and proceeding toward black.
In addition to earning belts, students can also earn stripes within a belt color, as a way to further measure and award progress.

A full description of our belt progression system can be found in our Adults Program Manual, which you can download in pdf format by clicking the link below.
