Bangor and Aroostook GP-38's, both Atlas units. Top photo is
unit #93 painted in the tri-color or "circus" theme of the late
1970's
through the 1980's. The GP-38's are no longer part of the
fleet
of the Montreal, Maine, and Atlantic, but a GP-9 is still on site
in Derby with the circus theme paint. This GP-38 has the correct
horn placement on the side of the cab. I added 1.5v bulbs in place
of the standard Atlas bulb for a brighter headlight and a NCE five
function decoder.
The other GP-38, #352, is painted in the Iron Road theme of
the 1990's.
This unit has added 1.5v ditch and headlights and a bell mounted
on the
long hood of the fireman side. With the NCE decoder the ditch lights
are
programmed to alternately flash when the horn is activated.
