Ongoing Projects
As of 5/22/06:
Been a while since I updated, but here goes some of the current stuff:
- Stripped and repainted an Athearn Genesis SD70 for CP Eager Beaver scheme. I know CP does not run any SD70's, but
it looks nice, and as long as I like it, that is what matters most. Will post some pictures soon.
- B&M woodchip hoppers: I made a first run of five in the "Woodsville NH" scheme. These required a false wall
to simulate the lift holes on the sides. See photos below.
- Working on several private projects. One is for two BAR troop sleepers that will have DCC lighting for a gentleman
in Virginia; the other is a SD60 wide cab from a Kaslo Shops kit for a gentleman in Alberta, Canada. Also doing several
BAR MW hoppers and log cars for anlother gentleman in Virginia.
- I recently figured out how to make a 60' Roundhouse bulkhead flatcar into the prototype BAR log car with a sloped bottom.
A bit of work, but this will be a cool model.
- Recently recieved my long awaited MLW 420 kits from Kaslo Shops. REAL COOL. These will be made into a CN seargent
stripes and the other St Lawrence and Atlantic.
- Many thanks to NBSR for providing some Sunbury paint. I will be using it to make a Proto 2000 GP-38 in the Sunbury
scheme.
- Also many thanks to MMA for providing some maroon and yellow paint as used on their B39. I am in the process of
stripping an Atlas Dash 8 and repainting in the MMA theme.
- Back on the Roundhouse bulkhead flatcar, Adam suggested that I remove the plastic deck and place a scale wood deck.
Neat idea. Since I figured out how to do the sloped deck I can also make one with a wood deck.

Boston and Maine woodchip car from the late 1960's. This car is built with a double wall so that the lifting holes
stand out. I added grabs on the ends/sides, simulated brake piping along the bottom sill, air piping in the valve area,
and a brake chain. Decals are Highball Graphics.
