| Liebherr feller-buncher (forestry), scratch built |

|
Adam, 12 going on 13, spends his spare time by building elaborate scratch built models of construction equipment.
This is some pretty detailed stuff....
He starts, sometimes, with a manufacturers spec sheet that has overall dimensions. Using an HO scale
rule, he's off. Here are some examples of some of his work. He has actually sold some stuff at a model shop in
the Portland, ME area!

The left photo is of a Demag TC4000 lattice boom crane, completely made from scratch. This will fit in real nice
in our train layout at the pulp/paper mill !
The right photo is a Caterpillar profiler, a piece of equipment that is used to shave the pavement surface to a certain
elevation or grade. Again, completely made from scratch. This is decaled for a local (Bangor ME area) contractor.
The picture below is one of the first trucks made, a DOT type snow plow. The truck is an Athearn Kenworth tractor.
The dump back, plow, and wing with hoses, chains are all scratch built.
