You've found the message board service known as "The Traditional Muzzleloader Message Hide" or T.M.M.H. It is located at www.tmmh.com for your convenience. It is the oldest message board service dedicated to the sport of muzzleloading of any kind on the web and it is here for your enjoyment and in order to assist in keeping the sport of muzzleloading, in its traditional form, alive. Remember, what is posted on The Hide are the opinions of individual posters only. Use these opinions at your own risk!

Before posting, there are a few rules that we follow here, a few suggestions for you and a bit of information that you will need in order to fully enjoy The Hide. I realize this is a longish bit of reading but this is how long it must be. The rules are as follows:

1) Kindly read, understand, and adhere to the rules posted atop The Hide and here before posting. We discuss traditional muzzleloaders and related items and matters only here. We DO NOT discuss non-traditional accessories such as pyrodex pellets, modern scopes for your muzzleloader, etc. We link to other boards (The Palaver Hide) to discuss political matters, gun owner's rights, modern, non-traditional muzzleloaders, beer drinking, etc. If you've read the top of The Hide, you know that buying, selling, and trading business is conducted on the board maintained just for that purpose (The Trade Blanket). Our advertisers are the only exception to this rule. Also, the Trade Blanket is intended for use by our regular posters only. If your primary interest in joining us is to sell something, there are other boards that would be better suited for this.

2) Always use the same "handle" (user name) when posting.

3) We do not allow "flame wars" here. If you attack one of our "Hider" friends in a rude, unfriendly fashion, you can expect to be deleted and banned by the first moderator who sees your post. People come here to learn, share and to enjoy and not to be insulted.

4) Support our advertisers whenever possible. The Hide is free for the user, but not for the board owner and advertising fees pay for the expenses involved in maintaining The Hide. Our advertisers pay good money to be here. They have been carefully screened before being asked to advertise here and we have long since decided that they are us. Support them as they support us.

5) Do not post messages to The Hide the purpose of which are to attract "Hiders" to another message board that discusses the same subject. We consider this to be totally "classless" and quite rude. Also, DO NOT cross post to other message boards!

6) Rates for advertising on The Hide are available upon request and space is dependent upon availability. If you would like to direct "Hiders" to your muzzleloader supply or service business by posting a link to your web page, or otherwise, kindly ask about availability of space and for these rates first. Otherwise, you may post one message to The Trade Blanket at a time. Again, one message may appear on The Trade Blanket which directs Hiders to your business at any given time. None may appear on The Hide.

7) This board is carefully moderated . Everyone is invited to submit a user name and password and all but the few who have managed to get banned from posting already will be approved. If you HAVE been asked to leave, do not come back. If you once had a user name and password, YOU STILL DO so do not submit again. Simply as us to retirieve your old user information .AGAIN, once a member, always a member so DO NOT SUBMIT TWICE. If you do, we delete all of your user names and passwords and leave them deleted. In order to submit your user name and password, simply do the following:

Use exactly this subject header in your e-mail: "Hide User name and Password". Messages sent with the improper subject header will not be opened. This is due to the fact that we have been flooded with viruses that we do not need or want to deal with.

When submitting, do not use an anonymous e-mail address such as a hotmail, lycos, yahoo, etc. address. Use only your regular e-mail address. Only the moderators will see it and we will not share it with anyone without your permission. If your only email address is yahoo, hotmail, etc., you cannot join this group. Save us all some time and don't ask.

If your e-mail bounces back for some cyber-reason, wait awhile and try again. It does work.

Note that the user name includes a slash and a general location of residence. Note also that there are no spaces in either the user name or the password.

When sending your user name and password, any information you can offer us about you and your interest in the sport will expedite your getting logged in. If you chose to send us a user name and password without any information about yourself and your interest in the sport, you will likely not be admitted. We're serious about this. Do not send additional e-mails asking if we have received your user name and password however. Try to remember how many people are sending these. We cannot respond at length to individual notes.

You should know that this is a non-profit venture for the board owner and for the assistant moderators. It's a labor of love but we don't need trouble. Kindly be cooperative and helpful when possible.
