I guess we have been fortunate in that we have not once had to deal with the question of blatant commercialism on this board. Those who are involved with selling muzzleloading guns and accessories and who have posted here in the past have been gentlemen and have apparently intuitively understood that this is a "business free zone" (with the exception of our official advertiser). We intend that The Trade Blanket be used by our regular posters to The Hide only. We do not invite posts by those who came here soley to sell us something. If your reason for submitting a user name and password is to post something here, kindly don't submit the user name and password. Be a regular poster for at least six months before posting anything for sale or trade here.

By profession, I am (and have been for many years now) a sales manager in a highly aggressive, competitive industry in New York City. Before and after work, I prefer to be thinking about things unrelated to my job. But should this page ever take on an ugly, commercial tone, I am just the guy to figure out a way to make money from it. Trust me, I'd much rather be thinking about my hobby when I am sitting here with you but in the end, I can be meaner than you can.

Kindly pardon this interruption in our regularly scheduled "programming" but it occurred to me that the time to adopt this policy is before the question first arises. Let's hope things stay just as they are here. Support our official advertiser, by all means, but otherwise, limit advertising to one post on the board at any given time. Okay?
