Tom is a Contributing Writer to Chesapeake Bay Magazine and to SAIL Magazine and its Do It Yourself sister publication, BoatWorks. He also edits Waterway Guide, the standard reference for cruising the East and Gulf Coasts of the United States.
He has published over 1500 articles in newspapers and magazines, covering both sailing and motorboating, including more than 300 boat tests.
Tom holds a U.S. Coast Guard Master's license with sail endorsement. A sailor since 1955, he and his late wife, Pam, have owned a variety of sail and power boats.
