A ccd image of the "Eskimo" or "Clownface" nebula also known as NGC-2392 . this image is a composite of 1 each of red ,blue and green 8 second exposures combined in CCdops software from SBIG. The image was taken with my STC5C camera @ f4.7 on a night when the moon was very close to the subject ! Processing was able to remove most of the interference showing the incredible ability of ccd cameras to cut thru light polution natural or artificial ! Some of the glare from the moon can still be seen in the lower left of the image but for the most part it is gone ! When I first saw the image I thought it was wasted but some detail was still there! I will try this one agian in dark skies for a comparison !
