NGC 2024 The "Flame "nebula
NGC 2024 the "Flame"nebula is not too obvious visually. I have to use a nebula filter on my 11"
just to see a hint of it . This photo was taken with the 8" scope on Kodak Gold 400 for a 25 min.
exposure at F10. The mystery blue fuzzy object in the lower part of the photo{ a small arrow points to it } I thought was a comet. I am told by some other amateurs that it could be glare. I really don`t know because it was on two exposures I took of that same area within an hour or so. By the time I developed the film it was 6 weeks gone by. I searched the area in vain. I may
have missed the discovery of a comet!! Drat!!! Oh well better luck next time!
