M56

     M56 is a small globular cluster located in the constellation of Lyra not too far from M57, the "Ring"nebula. M56 comes in at magnitude 8.3 and is easily seen in small scopes in good skies. This image was taken with the 8"scope in fair skies for just 4 min on Kodak gold 400 at f6.3. The short exposure was taken to give a view the way it looks to visual observers or as close as possible !
