M97 the"Owl" nebula

    The "Owl" nebula named after its obvious appearence is an 11th magnitude planetary nebula in the constellation Ursa Major .The eyes of the Owl can be glimpsed in an 8" scope in favorable conditions even from the city! This photo was taken with the 8" scope for twenty five min. on Kodak Gold 400 at f6.3 using the 35 mm camera and focal reducer .
