Mars
Some images of Mars taken on 08/17/03 & 9/01/03 with a TouCam Pro webcam coupled to a Celestron 11" scope ! 87 frames 44 frames and 117 frames were picked from three videos ,stacked to form three individual color images then combined in Photoshop to give the final composite in the first photo and a similar amount of frames for the second ! "K3ccdTool" was the program used to extract and stack the frames . Toucam Pro software was used to take the videos. Though the atmosphere was very turbulent the 15 frames per second was fast enough to "catch" aprox. 1\5 to 1\4 the frames taken during the videos ! A slight stretch was done in Photoshop to enhance the detail . The second image is an image taken with the same setup !All videos were taken thru the 11"scope with a 3X Barlow to give a focal ratio of f30. Each image is displayed next to an image created from the "Mars Previewer" program which gives a pretty accurate rendition of what Mars should look like at any given time ! The actual axis of the planet is oriented a little different from image to "sketch"due to the proximity of the imager !
