The "Pillars" of the Eagle Nebula

The pillars of the Eagle nebula are star factories in progress. The Hubble telescope has imaged some pretty amazing features in these columns of gas showing stars that are "newborn". This image is a LRGB of the area imaged with my ST5C ccd camera ,FR-5C focal reducer,Orion skyglow filter and 11" scope .It is a 500 second luminance (20x25) and 150 each of red, blue and green images (10x15) integrated with "track & accumulate" software from SBIG. The RGB and the luminance were combined using "The Gimp" for windows with a slight unsharp mask used on the red layer before combining.
