Plato,Cassini and Alpine Valley

The craters Plato,Cassini and the Alpine valley on the moon. 1/4 second exposure on Kodak Gold 100 ASA using eyepiece projection at f45 with the 8" scope. This type of photography is extremely sensitive to any motion whatsoever and is the most difficult to accomplish for the astrophotographer. The highly magnified image is blurred easily with the slightest motion but good results can be attained using the simple "Hat Trick" whereby the photographer uses a blackened mask or Top-Hat {from which this phrase is coined} to block the aperture ,open the shutter, expose, re-block the shutter then close the shutter all the while hoping someone didn`t sneeze within the square mile surrounding your site! Well, maybe not quite that sensitive, but its a good frame of mind toward accomplishment!
