Saturn

The planet Saturn imaged on December 27th 2003 using an 11" Celestron Ultima telescope ,a Toucam Pro webcam with 3x Barlow projection . The resolution was set 320X240 and the software used was K3ccd at 30 frames per second. The frames were sorted in K3ccd and the best were aligned and then stacked using the same software . The final .bmp's were then averaged and then an unsharp mask applied in AstroArt 3.0 . A slight tweak in color balance gave the final result . The Toucam Pro is proving to be a very effective camera for planetary imaging due to its ability to shoot many frames over an extended period effectively "freezing most atmospheric turbulance". The Toucam Pro also utilizes a true ccd chip allowing for resolution up to 640X480 .
