Solar Eclipse

         ....A solar eclipse taken from my home in Burlington ,VT back in the mid 1990's ! The scope used was an 8" Schmidt Cassegrain with a homemade solar filter . A Fugica 35mm camera was used with Kodak asa 100 film and a 1-500th second exposure . The strange veil like appearance was due to mist filtering down thru the atmosphere as the exposure was taken . Clouding prevented any other exposures to be taken . The suns disk would not have been completely covered at this eclipse . There would have been a ring around the entire disk not quite blocked out by the moon . But as I stated clouding ruined any chance I had at that . Return to Planets
