Other Destinations  - for a rainy day or when the kids need a day off the beach, we recommend:

bullet Wilmington, NC:  The kids will enjoy a tour of the USS North Carolina or a visit to the Railroad Museum downtown next door to the Cotton Exchange.  Others will enjoy the many shops at the renovated Cotton Exchange.  Wilmington is a lovely old city with many historic homes and buildings open to visit.  We recommend the "Haunted Wilmington" tours which take in many locales reputed to have ghostly visitors.
bullet Swann's Point:  An old fishing village with a walkable area of interesting shops and some good places to eat.
