This page is all on the great new hobby of Home Theatres. Then again, maybe hobby isn't the right word. Once you experience a film at home the way it should be viewed, you'll find that it's more like a way of life than just a hobby.
I started getting into the home theatre world when I first hooked up my TV to my previous sound system. It was very cool being able to hear action taking place from one side of the room to the other. Then came surround sound and I was stunned by the the all-encompassing effect. Still, it seemed I was lacking some oomph. The addition of my sub-woofer literally blew me away. I wore out my 1st tape of Jurassic Park by showing people that you can now actually feel the Brontosaurus when he lands on his front feet toward the beginning of the film.
I thought it couldn't get much better until DVD came out. The quality of the picture is now better than ever and I can easily skip to my favorite parts of my films and play them over & over without the fear of wearing them out ever again. With the addition of numerous special features included with the films, DVD has become a must have for any true movie fan.
