We Honor our Veterans

In today's lesson, Jesus is talking about the end of life as they (or we) knew (know) it...  All of this talk about the end of times can be scary.  And yet He suggests that this stuff is nothing more than the birth pangs of a new age filled with hope and peace.  How do we live through times of great tumult and upheaval?  Do we look back and yearn for the simpler and perhaps fuller times of the past..."The Good Old Days?"  Or do we look ahead with the eyes of faith , trusting God is the keeper of our destiny?  And as we live through the times of uncertainty , how shall we honor those who make their home in the heart of the tumult and treachery, the ambiguity and paradox...like people in our military?  These are the things we will consider today...the twenty-fourth Sunday after Pentecost.

Our Mission:

To encounter, proclaim, and serve Jesus Christ from the heart of Bowling Green, Ohio.

Our Vision:

To be a celebrative community of deeply spiritual people . . .
To be an inclusive community of caring and critically thinking people . . .
To be an prophetic community of socially concerned and active people . . .

Our Discipline:

Do no harm . . .
Do all the good we can do . . .
Love God with all our hearts . . .
