UMCOR Responds to Philippines Typhoon

The United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) Philippines is working with its local partners to provide relief to those affected by Typhoon Ketsana in the Philippines.  According to the National Disaster Coordination Council (NDCC) nearly half a million people are affected.  Hours of heavy rain and high winds caused flashfloods and landslides.  144 people are confirmed dead, and that number is expected to rise as new deaths are reported.

The BBC reports that 80% of Manila is underwater, displacing 450,000 people.  Support for UMCOR's relief work in the Philippines can be made through Trinity church or on-line through Philippines Emergency, UMCOR Advance #240235 at this link http://new.gbgm-umc.org/umcor/.

Frankenmuth and Birch Run!

There's an additional option for the Frankenmuth trip on Saturday, November 7.  The bus will be stopping at the Birch Run Outlet Mall for those who would like to shop at the outlet mall.  Just sign up for Option B (transportation only) and you will have the opportunity to shop, shop, shop!  Call Scott Carpenter if you have any questions.  Regardless of which option you choose - reserve your seat - mail your reservation now!
