Jefferson Starship -- 31 Mar 1994
Music Hall -- Tarrytown NY

Paul Kantner, Marty Balin, Jack Casady, Darby Gould, Tim Gorman, Mark "Slick" Aguilar, Prairie Prince:
Won't You Try--Saturday Afternoon / She Has Funny Cars / Gold / The Light / Lawman / White Rabbit / Shadowlands / Miracles / Count On Me / Comin' Back to Me / Love Has No Pride / I'm On Fire / St. Charles / Wooden Ships / Plastic Fantastic Lover / Volunteers

A superior show, and a decent recording. Jack's bass thunders throughout, but Tim Gorman's subtle accents are perfectly clear in the mix as well. The two combine on a wonderful, subdued jam passage during "St. Charles." Marty's screaming finale of "Plastic Fantastic Lover" competes just fine with anything from 1967-68. Darby's beautiful vibrato shines throughout the show. And the more I hear of Mark "Slick" Aguilar, the bigger fan I'm becoming.

All in all, probably a better recording than Deep Space / Virgin Sky. On most songs the three part harmonies are decently mixed, and are breathtaking! That's the Jeffersons! Taking place a couple of days after Grace's shotgun incident, Paul makes some tart comments on the stresses of living with Grace, but of course knows nothing about the real Ira, about whom Grace writes in her book.

Banter - After "White Rabbit", Paul Kantner: "Thank you very much. Let's hear it for drugs. (Audience cheers) Now don't get me wrong here, we've got a parking problem in New York, and anything that will kill more people, I'm for."
