Jefferson Airplane Memorabilia for Trade

I've been organizing my library, and I've found some duplicates of old magazines with Jefferson Airplane content. I'm looking to trade for other JA memorabilia, or JA concert recordings. Send EMail (dan_paolino@yahoo.com) with any offers, or questions. Not for sale, trades only!

Look, 30 May 1967 -- Glossy, 10.5" by 13.5". Cover features Michael Caine. Inside, a five page spread, "Jefferson Airplane Loves You", featuring stunning Jim Marshall photos of the band. Four pages in color, one page B&W. The text that wraps around the photos is throw-away pap.

In pretty good shape for a thirty-six year old magazine. The cover is no longer attached, and the pages have yellowed a little on the edges.

Life, 28 June 1968 -- Glossy, 10.5" by 13.5. Cover features Jefferson Airplane sitting in little plastic boxes. The issue is dedicated to "The New Rock." Eleven pages of amazing color photos featuring Jefferson Airplane (another pose in the little plastic boxes), Country Joe and the Fish, the Who, Cream, the Doors, The Mothers of Invention, and Big Brother and the Holding Company. Also a long essay by Frank Zappa, and a two page B&W concert shot of Jimi Hendrix and Noel Redding.

In good shape, although a little tattered. The cover is split about 2.5" from the bottom, and there's some wear, mostly on the back. The edges of the magazine are a little ragged, and the pages have yellowed a bit on the edges -- but the color photos inside are still quite vibrant.

Trouser Press, March 1983 -- Glossy cover, rag interior, 8" by 11". Cover features four color Herb Greene photos of Jefferson Airplane, circa Surrealistic Pillow. Inside, an eight page feature with Marty Balin and Paul Kantner commenting on the JA/JS discography to date, with plenty of photos.

Cover has significant staining (from ten years storage in my dank, dark cellar), pages are yellowed.

Relix, February 1996 Glossy, 8.5" by 11" -- Jefferson Airplane feature issue. Jorma on cover. Jeff Tamarkin reviews JA catalog, with lots of vintage photos. Jorma interview, with more photos. Music and tablature for "Embryonic Journey." Michael Falzarano interview. Four pages of Hot Tuna photos from the 1970's, 80's and 90's.

Magazine is in great shape.

Pulse, March 1998 -- Tower Records freebie magazine, glossy, 8.25" by 10.5" Cover feature: Thirty year commemoration of Tower Records store in San Francisco. Many San Francisco musical luminaries comment on their experiences at Tower Records. Includes short comments from Marty Balin and Jorma Kaukonen, a Herb Greene photo of Marty with flugelhorn (c. 1966), and a list of Jorma's desert island discs.

Magazine is in great shape.
