Chartered Organization |
St. Michael Parish has agreed to assist us with the Scouting Program. They provide us with resources such as rooms for weekly meetings and storage space for camping equipment. |
|
Troop Committee |
The committee is made up of the parents, current adult leadership, and adults interested in Scouting. It is the committee’s charge to oversee all functions of the troop such as weekly meetings, Scout leadership, camping, financial decisions, and discipline. It is also the responsibility of the committee to see that all activities meet the guidelines set by the Boy Scouts of America. Parents are encouraged to become members of the committee.

Adult Leaders |
The adult leaders who participate in weekly meetings and weekend activities attend BSA training as required by the Chartered Organization. The leaders are the Scoutmaster and Assistant Scoutmasters. There is no such thing as too many adult leaders. |
|
Senior Patrol |
The older Scouts – typically 14 years of age or older – make up the Scout leadership. The Senior Patrol Leader is elected by the Scouts and is the top Scout position in the troop. There are several other positions of responsibility appointed by the SPL and adult leaders. |
|
Patrols |
The troop is divided into smaller groups – made up of 6 to 10 boys-- that are called patrols. Each patrol has a name and has an elected Patrol Leader. These groups camp, cook, eat, and do other activities together. |
