XTREME CTF RULES

There are some people who may disagree with the philosophy of these server rules, because they believe that "DF is war."  I agree that war is all about survival by any means necessary, but DF is not war....it is a GAME.  If you feel that DF should be played exactly like war, then when you are killed, you should remain dead and never re-spawn, or you should leave the game, because you should not get infinite lives.

However, since everyone re-spawns upon dying, then everyone accepts DF as a game.

Therefore, the rules of war do not apply, so my server rules are based on game etiquette.
If you cannot accept the rules of my server, then please find another server.

1 SAW PER TEAM

- CTF is not about kills and deaths, it's about teamwork and strategy for protecting and capturing flags.  Team strategy often involves some players assaulting while other players run for flags.  Therefore, in order to accommodate this strategy, while still minimizing lag, 1 saw per team will be allowed.

- SAWS cause increased lag, due to the increased amount of bullets (and data that game must process).  Therefore, limiting SAWS to 1 per team is necessary to help keep lag to a minimum.

- SAWS can be fired even after a player is killed.  This can (and does) result in "cheap" kills, therefore SAWS are limited to minimze this problem.

NO CHEAT- GLITCHING

- If it can be done in real-life, it is allowed.  If it cannot be done in real-life, it is not allowed.

ALLOWED:

  1. Shooting through "windows" on hangar roof.

  2. "Climbing" trees and towers.

  3. Using objects to jump or climb onto roofs.

NOT ALLOWED:

  1. Hiding in walls or other solid objects.

  2. Using trainers that create "enhanced" abilities (this includes any and all trainers).

  3. "Glitching" up onto roofs of buildings that otherwise have no way to climb up onto them.

  4. "Frame-skipping" which occurs when players tap keys (usually jump key) as fast as they can to send extra data to the server.  This results in them appearing to move intermittently or choppy.

EXCEPTIONS:

  1. Sometimes players may appear to "glitch" when elevated (on roofs, towers, etc.).  This is not considered cheat-glitching, but rather only game-glitching, and although it's not an ideal part of gameplay, it is tolerated.

  2. It is permissible for players to use elements of the map's design to their advantage.  For example, jumping up through and onto base-hangar roofs in "Trapped" map, and swimming into and knifing up through open-ended walls in "Frogger" map.

ETIQUETTE

KNIFING UP CLOSE is strongly encouraged!  It is to your benefit to knife when possible, as a knife-kill is worth 3 points.  Besides, shooting or nading someone up close is just plain cowardly.

WATER-NADING is allowed.  In DF, a player can remain underwater indefinitely (something that CANNOT be done in real-life) to avoid being shot or travel large distances.  Therefore, if someone chooses to use this tactic, then they risk being water-naded.
