HOW TO CHANGE VIRTUAL MEMORY (Windows XP)


 

1. Click "Start," then "Settings," then "Control Panel."

 

2. Once Control Panel is open...double-click on the "System" icon. 

 


3. On the "System Properties" screen, click the "Advanced" tab.

 


4. In the "Performance" section, click on the "Settings" button.

 


5. On the "Performance Options" screen, click on the "Advanced" tab.

 


6. In the "Vitural Memory" section, click on the "Change" button.

 


7. Change the settings for Virtual Memory as follows:

 

        1. Find the recommended size

       

        2. Double the recommended size and enter it into the "Initial size" field.

 

        3. Double the initial size number and enter it into the "Maximum size" field.

 

 

 

Click "OK" then "Apply"

 

You will need to restart your computer for the changes to take effect.
