ENGINE

This is the metal SVT engine tag personally engraved by the two people that hand built my Cobra engine and placed on the passenger side engine valve cover.

You can also see the heat protective covers I placed on all my fuel lines, fuel rails and whatever I had left I placed over the stock spiral wraps and wires. Cooler fuel is better than hot fuel, and these engines radiate allot of heat to other components. I purchased a 15 foot kit of 1/2" ID heat tube from Design Engineering, Inc. and it was enough to do everything.

By adding ceramic coated headers, with the CAI Tube and Line Wraps, I was able to reduce my under hood and CAI Inlet Air Temperatures significantly. My coolant temperature gauge reads allot lower now when ambient air temperatures are above 90 degrees F. I was amazed at the difference it made.

Same intake, but black ceramic coated
Notice the 3/8" intake spacer.

Do you know the firing order
of your 99 Cobra 4.6L DOHC?

Firing order = 1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8

The above picture shows the cylinder numbers.

Bank #1 = 1 - 4
Bank #2 = 5 - 8
