TICONDEROGA COMMUNITY EDUCATION PROGRAM CONTINUES!
Ticonderoga , NY - Hancock House, 6 Moses Circle
"Once Upon an Island” The Big island in Ticonderoga",

Speaker Fred V Provoncha, Ticonderoga Heritage Museum.

7:00PM at the Thompson-Pell Research Center.

"Once upon an Island" is a take off on Denise Huestis's book and articles,
entitled "Once upon the River". My lecture will just focus on the Industries
that grew up on the "Big Island" in the middle of Ticonderoga.

The Island is an Island no longer, and all the mills, etc are gone. But their story
awaits the telling..

Fred V Provoncha grew up in Ticonderoga, worked in the Island Mill of the
International Paper Company in the summers, and moved to NYC and Long
Island (The other big Island) in the 1960's.

Recently returned to Ti, he was hired as the coordinator of
the Ticonderoga Heritage Museum. Fred spends his spare time as the
administrator of the Essex County Genweb genealogy site, with support
for Clinton, Nassau and Suffolk counties, and tramping through old local mines.
