Graphite Industry, Guy Baldwin's Mill 1833.
Graphite was discovered in Chilson in 1815. In 1818, Guy Baldwin perfected a process for refining graphite by mixing it with iron ore and grinding it between millstones then removing he impurities by washing. In 1833, he received a patent for the graphite pencil.
