Music @ UUC

Music is an integral part of the congregations activities, in worship and outside of worship. 

Adult Choir 

The Choir rehearses at at 10:00 on Sunday mornings. The choir often provides an 'anthem' during the Sunday worship service.. 

Occasional Sunday Worship Service Music 

Congregation members and musical artists from the larger community often enliven services with special music:

Several members or our Congregation are members of the WVSO and  often add music to Sunday morning worship services.

Concordia  is a 4 piece recorder group comprising: Brian Vannoy, soprano; June Buchanan, alto; Sue Hickok, tenor and Susan Wellons, bass.

Extra

The UUC sanctuary provides and excellent place to listen and enjoy music outside of Sunday and Worship services. UUC's annual 'Canvass Dinner' has featured barbershop music from the Kanawha Kordsmen, singer songwriter T.Paige Dalporto and The Clementines. Occasional concerts have featured:

The classical music of the Montclaire Quartet,

Falling Water Recording Artist Debra Cowan from MA, supported by Uncle Eddie and Robin from Wheeling WV,

Reggae from Shayar and Krooshal Force from Beckley WV,

Riot Folk recording artists, Shannon Murray(MN) and Evan Greer(MA) have played on different occasions

Butch Ross, Mountain Dulcimer from Tennessee,

Pittsburg's Anne Feeney,

Charleston Blues Society Concerts featuring Lady D, Biscuit Miller from Chicago, Doug McCleod etc,

Roy Zimmerman from CA,

Local Musicians, Potluck(Colleen Anderson, Julie Adams, Karen Vuranch), Moutain Thyme, Master story teller Bill Lepp has  recorded a couple CD's in the Sanctuary, Martyrannys Collectice Pulse, Bob Webb and Douglass Imbrogno, Casi*, SLATE DUMP, Comedy from Marcya Twyman,  Belly Dancing from  Razi, Captain Crash and the Beauty Queen from Mars, the Synergy Collective......
