The agencies we support offer a range of educational, preventative, support and relief services in Southbridge, Sturbridge and Charlton.

 

Our 2009-2010 member agencies:

Big Brothers / Big Sisters of Central Mass / Metrowest, Inc.

Big Brothers Big Sisters works to improve the quality of life for at-risk children by matching them with caring, responsible adults for 1-to-1 mentoring relationships.

Boy Scouts of America – Mohegan Council

Boy Scouts of America is a values-based youth development organization training and educating young men to become responsible citizens.

The Bridge of Central MA, Inc. – South County Housing Assistance Program (SCHAP)
SCHAP provides assistance in obtaining and maintaining permanent housing for homeless individuals with disabilities and is the only program located in the Tri-Community area that provides permanent housing and intensive supported housing to disabled homeless adults and families.

The CASA Project Inc.

CASA recruits, trains, and supervises volunteers to serve in the Worcester County Juvenile Court on behalf of child victims of abuse and neglect.

Catholic Charities – Family & Children Services

Catholic Charities offers a variety of services to the poor, homeless and infirm based on the belief that “every person has the right to life, housing, food, shelter, clothing, and health care, and that all should be enabled to participate in the decisions that vitally affect them.”

Girl Scouts of Central & Western MA

Girl Scouts is an extracurricular, educational program designed to stimulate self-discovery in order to develop skills and self-confidence which will serve young women throughout their lives.

Harrington Hospital

Harrington Hospital provides health care and medical services to over 17 towns in South Central Massachusetts and Northeastern Connecticut.

Legal Assistance Corporation of Central MA (LACCM)
Provides free civil legal assistance to low-income and elderly residents. LACCM specializes in elder law, government benefits, eviction defense, immigration law, housing and employment discrimination, and family law matters affecting domestic violence victims.

Literacy Volunteers of South Central MA

Literacy Volunteers offer free, one-on-one tutoring for adults whose native language is not English as well as adults whose native language is English but whose reading and writing skills are below the eighth grade level.

Rape Crisis Center of Central Massachusetts

Provides a full range of services to survivors of sexual assault and abuse and to their significant others. The agency provides supportive educational training to adults, teens, and professionals on the root causes of sexual violence.Provides a full range of services to survivors of sexual assault and abuse and to their significant others. Red Cross, Central MA Chapter – Disaster Services and Workforce Training
The Red Cross responds to local disasters and emergencies with shelter, food and health services. Their work begins at the scene of the disaster and assures that each person is stabilized in the short-term as well as in the long-term. The Red Cross' Workforce Training Program provides students with vital employment skills and teaches them to become self-sufficient. Areas of training include CNA/HHA and Phlebotomy/EKG.

Southbridge Interfaith Hospitality Network (SIHN)

SIHN offers food, shelter, employment assistance and guidance to homeless families at Grace House in Southbridge, MA.

Tri-Community Y.M.C.A.

The Tri-Community Y.M.C.A. offers a variety of fitness and wellness programs. UWSSC currently provides funding to support the following programs: Child Care, Youth Programs/Membership, Day Camping, Family Services, and Active Older Adult Programming.

Tri-Valley, Inc. – Ombudsman Program
The Ombudsman Program is made up of trained, local volunteers who regularly visit residents in nursing and rest homes. Volunteers receive, investigate and resolve resident’s concerns and offer support to families.

You, Inc. – Family Dinner and Family Night Programs
The Family Dinner and Family Night programs unite at-risk families for an evening of good food and wholesome activity.
