Pita Sandwiches
These creations happen. Generally, I warm the pitas, cut them in half and then add by layers:
- romaine lettuce or spinach leaves, washed, drained and chopped
- diced vegys such as celery, cucumber, tomato and sweet peppers
- alfalfa or bean sprouts
- thinly sliced deli meat such as turkey or ham
- small amount of ranch dressing
Once the sandwiches are assembled, wrap them tightly in plastic wrap or seal in a sandwich bag. Keep refrigerated.
NOTES: Can add diced fruit such as mandarin oranges or peaches, or nuts such as toasted almonds or pecans for extra flavor.
